NDRL faculty Jay LaVerne spend June 2015 at the Laboratory of Mehran Mostafavi in Paris, supported by the French CNRS. They examined the role of water cation in the oxidation of highly acidic and concentrated aqueous solutions using picosecond pulse radiolysis techniques. A model with experiment approach was used to get the first quantitative measurements of the extent of reaction of the water cation.
