NDRL Chemistry and Biochemistry graduate student Yong-Siou Chen passed his oral candidacy exam on November 7, 2014, with his presentation titled "Thiolate-Protected Gold Nanoclusters as Photosensitizers for Solar Energy Conversion."  Other recent accomplishments include several high quality papers, including one published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society titled "Glutathione-capped gold nanoclusters as photosensitizers. Visible light-induced hydrogen generation in neutral waters."
