Graduate student Danilo Jara's recent paper, "Size-Dependent Photovoltaic Performance of CulnS₂ Quantum Dot-Sensitized Solar Cells," published in the December issue of Chemistry of Materials, was used for the issue's cover art. The work focused in synthesis and characterization of CulnS₂ quantum dots with pyramidal shape, which display size-dependent photovoltaic performance. The origin of the photocurrent was found to arise from defect states, and an optimal size was identified based on charge stabilization.
